LEnt & Easter
What to Expect During Lent & Easter
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
We begin the Lenten journey with a community Pancake Supper hosted by the United Methodist Men and United Women in Faith, followed by the burning of last year’s palms as we prepare our hearts for the season ahead.
Ash Wednesday & Lenten Study
Lent begins with an Ash Wednesday service including the imposition of ashes. Throughout the season, we offer a Lenten study that complements our weekly worship themes.
Day of Service for UMCOR Sunday
During Lent, we honor UMCOR Sunday with a hands-on service day, collecting and packing supplies for the MERCI Center to bless those in need, living out Christ’s call to love our neighbors.
Holy Week Worship
Holy Week invites us into the story of Christ’s passion.
Palm Sunday recounts Jesus’ journey to the cross.
Maundy Thursday is observed with a Service of Darkness.
Holy Friday offers a contemplative, self-guided Stations of the Cross experience throughout our building.
Easter Celebrations
Easter morning begins with a Sunrise Worship Service on the Washington Waterfront alongside local churches, where we proclaim Christ’s resurrection, sing together, and share Communion. Later, we gather again in our Sanctuary for a traditional Easter service of joy and celebration.
